Continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, moderated somewhat by Mediterranean influences in valleys. Landlocked, no coastline. The mountainous terrain has historically made large-scale conquest difficult, while the river valleys have served as the main corridors for movement and trade.

About Albania

Albania is a country located in southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. Albania has a population of about 2.9 million people and the capital is Tirana.

The rugged interior highlands have historically sheltered resistance to outside control, while the exposed coastline leaves it vulnerable to naval pressure.
