Laos is a landlocked country located in Southeast Asia, bordered by China to the north, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand and Myanmar to the west. Angola is a country located in southern Africa. It is bordered by Namibia to the south, Zambia to the east, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north. The capital of Angola is Luanda. Angola has a long history of political instability and conflict. From 1975 to 2002, the country was embroiled in a civil war that killed an estimated 500,000 people and displaced millions.
