Mostly flat to rolling terrain in the north (the North European Plain) rising into forested hills and the Alps in the south. Temperate climate. The flat northern terrain offers little natural defense, which is part of why Germany has been fought over repeatedly from both east and west; its only real natural barriers are the Alps on its southern border.

About Andorra

Landlocked, no coastline. Entirely mountainous, tucked high in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, with an alpine climate of cold winters and mild summers. Its steep, enclosed terrain makes large-scale invasion impractical, and the country's small size and natural isolation have long kept it outside major conflicts.
