Split between a mainland region (Río Muni) of coastal lowland rising to forested hills, and Pacific-facing islands including Bioko, where the volcanic capital sits. The rainforest interior slows overland movement, and the physical separation between island capital and mainland complicates any single invasion effort, though it also fragments the country's own defense.

Landlocked, no coastline. Entirely mountainous, tucked high in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, with an alpine climate of cold winters and mild summers. Its steep, enclosed terrain makes large-scale invasion impractical, and the country's small size and natural isolation have long kept it outside major conflicts.
